Transfer information from an expired foreign passport to a newly issued passport in the Jawazat immigration database without visiting passport offices.

Required: Physical New Passport + No Unpaid Traffic Fines + Absher Access Update on Absher ↗

When expatriates or their family members renew their international passports through their respective home embassies in Saudi Arabia, the newly issued passport number and expiration date are not updated automatically in the Saudi immigration registry. Moving the new travel document details onto your active Iqama is known as Naqal Maloomat (نقل معلومات). Failing to perform this update blocks international departure at airport border immigration.

Who Updates Whose Passport?

  • For Dependents (Family Members): The primary expat sponsor can update their spouse's and children's passport details directly using personal Absher Individuals free of charge.
  • For Employees: Foreign workers cannot change their own primary passport on individual Absher accounts; their sponsoring employer or HR coordinator must execute the update via Absher Business or Muqeem.

Step-by-Step Guide: Updating Dependents on Absher

  1. Log in to Absher.sa (Individuals).
  2. Go to Family Member Services (خدمات أفراد الأسرة) > Services.
  3. Select Update Resident Passport Information (تحديث معلومات جواز المقيمين).
  4. Review the instructions and click Proceed.
