Under the Saudi Labor Reform Initiative, paper-based employment contracts are no longer recognized for formal labor disputes or legal procedures. All private-sector employees (expats and citizens) must have an authenticated, digital work contract registered on the official Qiwa platform.
Your electronic contract on Qiwa governs your monthly wage breakdown, working hours, probationary limits, annual vacation days, and notice periods for job transfers (Kafala).
Step-by-Step: How to View Your Contract on Qiwa
- Go to the official platform: Qiwa.sa.
- Click on Sign In at the top corner.
- Log in using your National Single Sign-On (Nafath) app or enter your National ID / Iqama Number and password.
- Enter the temporary verification code received via SMS.
- From your personal account dashboard, choose Individual Account (أفراد).
- Navigate to Work Contracts (عقود العمل).
- You will see your current contract listed with its status: Authenticated (موثق), Pending Employee Approval, or Terminated.
- Click View Contract to read all articles or download an official PDF copy for your records.
Important Contract Clauses to Review
- Basic Salary & Housing: Verify that the basic salary matches what you actually receive, as End of Service Benefits (ESB) are calculated strictly on your contract's registered wage.
- Probation Period: According to Article 53 of the Saudi Labor Law, probation cannot exceed 90 days unless mutually extended in writing up to a maximum of 180 days.
- Notice Period: For indefinite contracts, notice periods usually range from 30 to 60 days. Review this before initiating any transfer of sponsorship to another company.
