Absher Border Number Query (الاستعلام عن رقم الحدود)

General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) Public Inquiry
No Login Required

Retrieve your 10-digit Saudi Border Number (Raqm Al-Hudood) generated upon airport arrival using your passport details or visa document number.

Required: Visa Number or Passport Number + Date of Birth Query on Absher ↗

When foreign nationals arrive in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a new work visa, family visit visa, commercial visa, or tourist visa, Saudi immigration border officers generate an automated 10-digit tracking identifier known as the Border Number (رقم الحدود). Historically written by hand with pen on the visa page, it is now stored electronically in the Jawazat central database.

For newly arriving expatriate workers who have not yet received their permanent plastic Iqama card, the Border Number acts as their official temporary identification number to purchase medical insurance, conduct mandatory medical checkups (Efaar / Qiyas), and open temporary bank accounts.

Step-by-Step: How to Retrieve Your Border Number Online

  1. Access the official public portal: Absher.sa.
  2. Choose Absher Individuals (أفراد).
  3. Do not enter your login details; instead, look at the public services banner below the login box and click on Query Border Number (الاستعلام عن رقم الحدود).
  4. Choose your category:
    • GCC Citizens (لمواطني دول مجلس التعاون)
    • Visitors (للزائرين): Select this option for all new work visa arrivals and visit visa holders.

  6. Enter your Passport Number and select your Nationality.

Why Do You Need the Border Number?

  • First Iqama Issuance: Your employer's PRO (Mandoob) requires this 10-digit number to pay the work permit (Maktab Amal) and residency fees on Qiwa and Muqeem.
  • Medical Fitness Test for Residency: Laboratories require the Border Number to register your blood and medical fitness results on the Efada network.
  • Tawakkalna Visitor Registration: Allows visitors to register with Tawakkalna using their international passport and Border Number.
