In Saudi Arabia, registering a National Address (العنوان الوطني) is mandatory by law for all citizens and foreign residents. Your registered address connects directly to government systems, commercial banks, telecom providers, and utility companies. Opening a bank account, ordering delivery of a driver's license or ATM card, and renewing your residency (Iqama) all require a registered National Address.

Registration is managed through Saudi Post (SPL) and is completely free of charge.

Components of a Saudi National Address

A standard Saudi National Address consists of six key components found on the metal green plate outside your building:

  • Building Number: A 4-digit number assigned to your building.
  • Street Name: The official name of your access road.
  • District: Your neighborhood or quarter (e.g., Al Malaz, Al Olaya).
  • City: (e.g., Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam).
  • Postal Code: A 5-digit regional delivery code.
  • Additional Number: A secondary 4-digit number.

Step-by-Step: How to Register Your Address via SPL

  1. Go to the official postal portal: SPLonline.com.sa.
  2. Click on Login and authenticate using your National Single Sign-On (Nafath) account.
  3. From the navigation dashboard, select National Address (العنوان الوطني).
  4. Click Register Address (تسجيل عنوان جديد).
  5. Select your property type (Apartment, Villa, or Shared Flat).
  6. Use the interactive map or enter your 4-digit Building Number and City to locate your exact residence.
  7. Confirm your apartment or unit number, review the full address breakdown, and click Submit.

How to Print Your Official Address Proof

Banks and regulatory entities frequently request a PDF proof of address:

  • In your SPL user dashboard, go to the National Address section.
  • Find your registered primary residence and click View Address Details.
  • Click on Print Certificate (طباعة إثبات العنوان).
  • A stamped, bilingual PDF document will download automatically with an official QR code verification seal.
